Ski pole ferrules and tips for ski, touring, Cross-Country & rollerski poles
All our ski pole ferrules and tips are made of top-quality materials, which are resistant to low and high temperatures.
Ferrules in combination with alpine tip ends (steel or tungsten carbide) are used also on trekking and hiking poles.

Materials and versions of ski pole tip ends
Ferrules for ski poles can be combined with different kinds of tips:

Tungsten carbide (commonly known as widia) is the most frequently used material for tip inserts of our ski pole ferrules.
It is a chemical compound containing powder forms of cobalt and tungsten carbide which are during a specific sintering process fused together into a dense "hard metal".
The main difference is in the shape and sharpness of the tip insert.
Ski pole tips have rounded tip inserts and are symmetrical. Rollerskating and rollerski pole tips are very pointy, sharp and asymmetrical.
The main difference in ski pole ferrules are its inner shapes.
Bottom part of the pole is either tapered (conical) or cylindrical. You choose the right ferrule based on that shape.
The second criteria is its size. The third one is the shape of the tip insert.
Ski pole ferrules are attached to the pole usually by gluing them onto the shaft, so before their removal we should soften the glue between the inner walls of the ferrule and outer wall of the pole end. We can use hot air or warm water to do it and then we can remove the ski pole ferrule from the shaft with pliers easily.
To replace ski pole tips we suggest the following steps:
- warm up the pole end, including the ferrule, with a hot air gun to the point where the glue softens
- use the pliers to pull the old ferrule from the pole shaft
- wait for the pole end to cool down and then sand the remnants of old glue from the pole with sand paper (grade 600)
- clean the pole end properly before mounting a new tip replacement (use nitro cleaner if needed)
