The best kind of XC and special roller tip - widia
Tungsten carbide (known also as widia) is used for our tip inserts of our roller ski and ski pole ferrules in most cases because of its long durability.
Widia si chemical compound containing powder forms of tungsten carbide and cobalt which are during a specific sintering process fused together into a dense "hard metal".
Impotrant note:
Please follow the instructions for measuring the diameter of your ski pole to find the right ferrule diameter (see drawing below).
Our guide for determining the appropriate ski pole ferrule:
Roller ski ferrules can be sharpened manually (not with the grinding machine) with special diamond files that come with different grain sizes.
The easiest way to remove a roller skiing tip from the pole is to warm it up first. You can do this by dipping it into hot (not boiling!) water or warming it up with the hair dryer – in both cases the temperature should reach max. 60 °C.
After the tip is warm enough and the glue holding it to the pole shaft has softened, you can pull from the shaft by using the pliers.
